Showcase

Project By Annette Lee

This week we will be showcasing some of the lovely stamps available from Suzicraft and I just wanted to HIGHLIGHT the ELEGANCE HIGH RES Card that they stock.

The card is super smoothe for stamping and colouring in with Spectrum Noirs or other Alcohol Based Markers. The finish is well worth taking a look at and the price point is top notch as well.

The Pink Gem stamp design was stamped with a Black Memento Ink and it was coloured using Spectrum Noirs.
It was cut out using a Spellbinder circle die and layered onto a nesting scallop circle. The coloured background papers were some from my own stash. Ribbons and flowers are all available at Suzicraft. All layered onto an 8 x8 card base.

Anything Goes .....Part 3

Project By Annette Lee

Welcome Splodgers one and all. Today you will need to get those SplodgeAway Mats out to use with your favourite inks and colour your base card with a hint of your favourite colour. Next emboss and colour a piece of card - I used a left over piece of co'ordinations - with your Splodge-A-Mask and add more ink to highlight the embossing, The butterfly was cut from a piece of mirri card and embossed with another Splode-A-Mask. I then covered the mirri with a PVA glue and added some ultra fine glitter.

The wording has been highlighted with glossy accents and a bow was added.

I'm off now to find my moment of tranquility in my craft room!

Anything Goes ....part 2

By Sam Crowe

This week on 'Anything Goes' we were given the opportunity to create anything we wanted to with any items or products on sale at Suzicraft. Well this in itself made the project very easy for me as most of the craft products I use have been bought at Suzicraft because they have very competitive prices and Sue is always on top of the game and stocks her shop with the most popular products but also has an eye for papers.

If you see something new in a magazine or tv and you think you would be interest in it you can guarantee it is already on the Suzicraft stock order. This along with the fact that we have available SplodgeAway products as they come hot off the press - I felt I was given the opportunity to have a good old play in my craft room. So thats exactly what I did.

I had picked up some gorgeous shaped cards that almost looked like very large tags in lovely colours and very good quality card stock which gave me the idea of doing a mini memories journal. I did some computer scrapbooking with my Serif package printed it off then concentrated on one surface of the 8 sided book one side at a time. I wanted each surface to look completely different to the other but with a few pages tying it all together with a hint of a theme, i.e. the big thing on everyones mind this year is being proud to be British. Which to me includes the Forces as during my service that was the most proud I have ever been to be British.

I used papers, card, stamps, inks, glossy accents, spray and shine, liquid pearls, my splodgeaway mat and Sues beautiful new flowers along with masks and dies. I really enjoyed making this journal and could have added a lot more pages.

Hope you like it. Why not have ago yourself, start just with one page and see where it takes you.

The Give Away Continues .....

Have you become a follower of the blog and left your comment on Sunday's Posting to be in with a winning chance these masks by the SplodgeAway People......

<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Today I thought I'd share a canvas I used for a 'play time' recently. I wanted to see how Dylusion Inks would react with gesso and multi medium and this is the result. I used that famous Clock Splodge-A-Mask, Dylusion Inks, Tissue Paper and a few distress inks and items from those much sort after Artist Trading Card Boxes available from SUZICRAFT priced at £2.99

The inspiration came from the sentiment - Learn, Live, Hope which is something I believe we have to spend a little time working at, hence the clock in a distressed state!

The detailling on the clock mask is fantastic and a versatile addition to your collection.

The stamps are available at Suzicraft - see you soon and TFL

The Mouse Ran Up The Clock......

The GiveAway Continues..........

See Sunday's Posting for details of how to win SplodgeAway Masks

Now for today's blog contribution

The Mouse Ran Up the Clock

By Sam Crowe

When I was given the SplodgeAway Clock Mask by Tom I loved it straight away, but my mind went blank. I wanted to do something different with it to show the versatility of the masks he designs, I wanted to think outside the box. So I decided to forget that I was doing a clock project and just play with my Mask and inks and SplodgeAway Mat. I hadn't done any stamping for a while and thought I would throw some of my recently bought but not much used stamps into the mix.

As I embossed the mask onto plain white card my first thought was to age it - I just love doing this with the SplodgeAway mat because of the amount of play you get with the inks, as I used my light to dark inks I got a blend that looked almost like leather. I stamped the carriage and the mouse in the middle and started to get a bit of a story in my head. A story of nostalgia and shared memories of different fairy tales and eras that are embedded in the mind of lots of people, which would jolt memories to total strangers who looked at the card. I could have put a lot more images on than I did, but stopped myself so that some of it could be left to the imagination of the person looking at the card.

OK a bit heavy I know but thats what time is isn't it, its the past the now the future. And crafting is the same. When you get your masks and SplodgeAway mat out and give yourself a couple of hours to just mess around you can drift off and get totally lost in your project, which is why crafting is so great, a whole two hours where you forgot that there was a pile of ironing, or that the dog has his legs crossed or just that you were supposed to be doing something else a lot less mentally stimulating. All this from one SplodgeAway Mask. Can't wait for my next project!!

Tick Tock Little Clock

Project By Karen Wright

Welcome back to our friendly home we call SplodgeAway, I hope your enjoying all the wonderful creations that the rest of the design team have been showing you. Its my turn again and this time I have been using the SplodgeAway clock mask.

Instead of embossing or inking this time I used the mask as a template and drew around it, I then traced the outline with glossy accents to give it a raised effect. The rest of the card has been stamped with a stamp set by creative expressions. A little matting and layering and a hint of stickles. A really easy quick card (apart from the glossy accents drying time)

Canvas Dreams

Today I thought I'd share a canvas I made recently for SplodgeAway. The background was created using Claudine Hellmuth Gesso brushed through the balloon mask with a thick paint brush. Allow this to dry and I then spritzted the canvas with Cosmic Shimmer Spray Inks. I was delighted to find that these sprays sit on the surface of the gesso and also add a lovely, shiny colouration to the gesso.

Project By Annette Lee

All of the products are available from Suzicraft

Thank you also to all you lovely ladies and gents who came to our Ranger Day Workshops this week. I hope you left inspired to create and allow yourselves some time and space to get messy, inky and be creative.

Thanks

Time Flies

Today Dimply has put together a beautifully brayered inking technique for you to have a play with.

The SplodgeAway mat enhances your brayering technique and if you want to try a mat for yourself pop into Suzicraft and Tom or Susan will be happy for you to try.

Take an A4 piece of beige card and fold in half, this will make your base card, distress the edges using distress inks and the SplodgeAway mat.

Take an A5 piece of SplodgeAway Easy ink card, using brayering tool and ink using the SplodgeAway mat, make a background

Stamp an image a couple of time onto background

Emboss the SplodgeAway balloon mask onto the background paper you have just made, leave the mask on and distress the raised areas of the embossed image and distress around the edges, using stickles, highlight parts of the balloon (ALLOW TO DRY), this will become your topper

Trim a piece of beige card slightly bigger than the topper, then trim a piece of cream card slightly bigger than that, and a piece of orange slightly bigger

Stick the cream piece of card to the orange piece of card with double sided tape

Cut 2 pieces of twine, knot them in the middle and attach to the top left of the topper

When stickles are dry, stick the topper to the beige piece of card just trimmed, 3D foam the topper onto the other pieces of card

Emboss a few of the SplodgeAway cogs onto a piece of scrap card that will co-ordinate with your colours, cut out and place onto card

Stick onto A5 card
